I created a proper trailer for Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo. Of the 50+ films that Hitchcock directed, Vertigo is my favorite. Hitch loathed movie trailers. He took great pleasure in the audience’s raw, unspoiled reaction. In his mind, trailers rob the audience of that experience. I totally agree, but trailers today are so much better and, as an editor, I enjoy seeing how they get put together. As a tremendous fan of Hitchcock, I feel guilty doing this, nevertheless I couldn’t resist. I did my best to construct a trailer with as few spoilers as possible. If you’re a fan of Alfred Hitchcock, classic cinema, or movie trailers, I promise you will enjoy this. Like any trailer, sound is a massive component. Turn up the volume.
